About My Little Gumnut Modern Cloth Nappy - Nighttime Nappy
Specially designed for Nighttime use when additional absorbancy is required. My Little Gumnut Nighttime Nappies have be specifically designed with comfort, ease of use and effectiveness. Our nappies have 2 components – a soft, breathable and water-resistant outer layer (“the shell”) and a super thirsty insert.
Our Nighttime Cloth Nappy shells are made with an ultrasoft water-resistant material on the outside and feature a pocket made with 100% bamboo charcoal fleece on the inside. The bamboo charcoal is designed to quickly wick away any wetness from babies skin and into the bamboo charcoal insert, keeping them dry and comfortable.
Our Nighttime Cloth Nappy inserts are made with 2 layers of 100% bamboo charcoal on the outside and are filled with 3 layers of ultra thirsty microfiber on the inside. The bamboo charcoal layer will quickly draw the wetness into the absorbancy layers and hold it there for longer, keeping baby dryer for longer during the night.
Putting it all together, the insert will slide into the pocket of the shell, to create the perfect cloth nappy system for your little one.
As baby grows and extra absorbancy is needed to get baby through the night, simply add an extra insert inside the pocket to double the absorbancy.
As the insert is the absorbency part of the nappy, it has been specifically designed to quickly wick away any moisture (wee), leaving your babies skin feeling dry. By sliding the insert into the pocket of the shell, you are creating a barrier (the bamboo charcoal fleece layer) between babies skin and the insert. The bamboo charcoal fleece does not absorb the wee, rather it allows it to pass through and be absorbed into the insert.
Our stay dry nappy design leaves your babies skin feeling dry which will decrease the likelihood of your little one developing any sort of nappy rash.
PLEASE NOTE: Our nighttime nappies should be washed 6-8 times before use to boost the absorbancy.
At My Little Gumnut we are eco-conscious and aim to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Which is why our cloth nappies are adjustable to grow with your baby. Our reusable nappies are suitable for weight ranges 3-18kg.
Our Cloth Nappies come complete and ready to use, however you may wish to add a liner to assist with clean up. Our bamboo liners are specifically designed to catch the solids and make the clean-up process easier and quicker for you.
We have created 2 designs of liners to suit your specific needs. Our Bio-Liners are designed as a single-use liner. After use, simply dispose of the solids into the toilet then dispose of the liner into the bin or compost. Our Reusable Bamboo Liners are designed to be used over and over again. After use, simply dispose of the solids into the toilet, rinse the liner under the tap and wash with your reusable nappies.
- Use with our Bio Liners to make change time even easier

Easy to Use and Care For
You would be forgiven for thinking that cloth nappies require extra effort to look after and use. But welcome Modern Cloth Nappies. Just like almost everything we use today, cloth nappies have advanced since our parents were using them with us! Our MCN’s are shaped like a disposable nappy and can be tightened for the perfect fit with snap fasteners (that’s right, no pins required!!).
Caring for your MCN’s is pain-free with these 4 easy steps:
- Rinse off any solids (or remove solids with your Flushable Bamboo Liner)
- Place in a dry bucket with a lid
- Machine wash with your usual detergent (a quarter to half a scoop only)
- Line dry in the sun.
The sun will act as a natural disinfectant and draw out any stains, eliminating the need to use whiteners, brighteners or softeners. Always wash your MCN’s 2-3 times before use to boost the absorbency of the inserts.
We don't recommend any particular brand of detergent, however we do recommend using a powder detergent rather than liquid and always use cold or warm water to wash your nappies (water temperature should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius) as ongoing exposure to heat can effect the elastics and PUL material in the outer shell of the nappy. Never dry your outer shells in the dryer.
PLEASE NOTE: We recommend washing our nappies in cold water and line drying in the sun. If you prefer to wash in warm water, the water temperature should never exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
